after affects experiment

https://youtu.be/2iYGaB5nhP4 - link to see the final experiment

As you can see by the insert above, this is my attempt at creating a moving image in after affects; in other words, the process of making a short GIF. The process of this task takes 2 parts to fully create; using photoshop for editing the image so you can then process it into a GIF using after affects, then of course using Adobe After Affects to create the GIF. To create the GIF i used an image of the Shard with a plane in the background; the idea being to make the photo fly past, behind the building. You can see the starter image below, so you can see what it looks like before i commenced the process.

For the process of making this short GIF, i uploaded the image you see above into adobe photoshop. i then unlocked the layer and then duplicated it. I then used the quick selection tool to highlight the plane, then cutting out any sharp edges, that being any elements of the background in the quick select then i press command C and then command j to past it in the other layer. i then do a quick fill so it gets rid of the outline left by the plane, so then it looks like the plane was never there to begin with. i then repeat the same process for the shard as well but this time instead of using the quick selection, i used the polygon lasso tool, so then you should have 3 layers, one which is just the background, one which is the plane and the other which is the shard.

For the second step of the process, i then open the saved file from photoshop, that being the one from the previous step, in to adobe after effects, well essentially i dragged the file from my desktop into the app itself. then once it appears in the top left box, then open its contents where you will see the layers itself, first edit your timeline to 10 seconds, then drag the background part into it.
Essentially you do this for each part that pops up in the menu, so that being the skyline, plane & the shard for the example experimental task in which we did.

Before you finalise it, make sure you about a few times repetatively replay it to see if it is all to how you want it, then render it, finalise it, and it is ready of full upload.
